Start the lesson by introducing your learners to the concept of irony. Further, explain how irony is a powerful literary device as it challenges the readers to to think beyond the surface.

Introduce your learners to dramatic irony. Ask the learners to think of a play or a book which uses dramatic irony. You can also give them examples of popular literary texts.

Give each team the chance to present their comic strip. While one team presents, the learners can identify the types of irony used and think of alternate ways to add ironic elements within the comic.
